Dos Equis and chilé Piqúin make a very interesting combination on your palette

La Michelada

  • 1 lime, juiced
  • Ice
  • Few pinches chilé Piqúin, ground
  • Few pinches Kosher salt
  • Dos Equis Lager or other light Mexican beer
  • 1 whole chilé Piqúin

Mix equal parts ground chilé Piqúin and salt on a plate. Rim the outside of a pint glass with the lime and press into the chilé-salt mixture until the glass is thickly coated. Squeeze the remaining lime juice into the glass. Throw a dash of chilé Piqúin and a pinch of Kosher salt into the lime juice, then the ice. Pour in the beer. Garnish with a whole chilé Piqúin and serve.

Washing down some super spicy Indian street food with a couple of cold beers, I experienced the sublimely warm, tingly buzz generated by the combination. It was a fantastic high; I felt tipsy, energetic, and euphoric.
